Campbell Seed - A Rich History

Campbell Seed was founded in 1935 by C.A. Campbell and his son, Charles. They started by raising an inbred increase for Purdue University and from this increase, their first five acres of seed corn was raised the next year.

Production continued to grow throughout the years and in 1971, Charles' son, Scott, joined the company helping to expand the business even more. In 1974, Scott became an equal shareholder in the family business.

Campbell Seed continues to operate on the same farmground that has been in the Campbell family for over 100 years. The company has expanded continuously as it has grown from those five acres to many thousands of acres of seed production. Our marketing area spans from the Mississippi River east to the Atlantic coast.

Today, as a member of American Seeds Inc., Campbell Seeds is positioned to continue the growth seen over the past several years by adding additional staff, continuously testing thousands of inbred lines, and improving our customer service. We believe we are uniquely equipped because of our longstanding reputation of outstanding seedsmanship and dedication to customers.

We would like to thank our customers for their business and look forward to serving your seed technology needs for another 70 years!
